Fulbright-Tampere University Scholar Award for U.S. Scholars in Finland 2019/20

The Fulbright-Tampere University Scholar Award offers U.S. scholars the opportunity to conduct research at the Tampere University for a period of 3-12 months.

In January 2019, the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology merged to a new foundation-based university called Tampere University. Tampere University is located in three campuses; Central Campus, Hervanta Campus and Kauppi Campus.

Tampere University is fully integrated into the surrounding society and working life. As an excellent research environment, the city of Tampere offers the University a living laboratory in which to test, experiment, learn from mistakes and gain insight.

Benefits:

The Grant is 2,700 EUR per month. The grantee will also be provided with a travel award (1,800 USD). The university will provide housing for the scholar during the grant period. The grantee will also be eligible, free of charge, to participate in a Fulbright Finland pre-approved summer school in Finland consisting of courses on Finnish language, culture and society, pending availability of suitable programs. In addition, the grantee will be able to participate in the orientation and support services offered by the University and Fulbright Finland.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible Countries: U.S. citizens

Eligibility Criteria: A candidate for The Fulbright – University of Turku Scholar Award must hold a Ph.D. degree and should have several years’ teaching and research experience in his/her field.
