The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (KIOS CoE) at the University of Cyprus announces 10 full-time PhD student Scholarships.
The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence is the largest research center at the University of Cyprus and has recently been upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the KIOS CoE Teaming project, with significant funding in excess of 40 million euros over the next 15 years. Currently, the Center employs about 90 researchers (at various ranks/levels), who are supported by externally funded research projects. The vision of KIOS is that it will grow to 150-200 researchers by 2022.
Degree Level: PhD (full-time)
The selected students will be enrolled in either the Electrical Engineering or the Computer Engineering PhD program of the University of Cyprus and they will conduct their research at the facilities of the KIOS Center of Excellence in one or more of the following thematic areas: Control systems, computational intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, optimization and networks, embedded systems, fault diagnosis, cyber-security, reliability, resiliency and fault tolerance, cyber-physical systems, Internet of Things, dependable integrated systems, software defined radio, intelligent transportation systems, water networks, power and energy systems, telecommunication networks and smart camera networks. Value: The scholarship will be for one year and may be renewed annually, based on performance, for 35 years. It includes the University tuition fees and a monthly stipend between €1000-€1700 depending on the candidate’s qualifications and expertise. The scholarships do not include medical insurance coverage.
Eligible Countries: International students
Bachelor`s or Master’s in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering) or Computer Science or Mathematics or a related field from an accredited institution. Previous research experience will be considered an advantage.
